One of my favorite things to do this time of year is to go see all of the beautiful lights and Enjoy Holiday events!

The cooler weather, and the variety of unique local experiences that go with it, makes it the PERFECT time to be outside enjoying this beautiful Florida weather with your family. 

Whether you are looking for a boat or street parade to watch or a local Holiday event to enjoy, we have put together this list of fun, festive events for you to enjoy with your family the next couple of weeks.


Pinellas County

SANTA RIDES A FIRE TRUCK

When: After dusk on Friday, Dec. 15 and Sat, Dec. 16

All over the City of Safety Harbor

This is another example of small town charm igniting the spirit of the holidays, with Jolly Old St. Nick touring every (passable) street in the city over the course of two nights on the back of a fire truck. The sight of Santa sitting atop a giant red SHFD sleigh, waving to enthusiastic kids and kids at heart, is enough to warm the soul of even the most steadfast Grinch!

SAFETY HARBOR HOLIDAY PARADE

When: Saturday, Dec. 16, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Main Street

The city’s most beloved annual tradition dates back more than 35 years and is widely considered one of the biggest, longest and most entertaining holiday parades in the area. Hundreds of participants ride dozens of floats and vehicles, including cars, trucks, bikes and boats, as patrons line Main Street hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite characters, charitable organizations and of course, Santa Claus!

HOLIDAY LIGHTS IN THE GARDEN

Florida Botanical Gardens

November 24 - December 31, 2017 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Suggested donation $4 (13 years and older)

Holiday Lights in the Gardens every evening. The traditional array of light-lined paths with nightly free entertainment and visits from Santa Claus.

HOLIDAY LIGHTED BOAT PARADE

December 16, 2017 at 7:00pm

The 31st Annual City of Indian Rocks Beach Holiday Lighted Boat Parade will launch Saturday evening, December 16 @ 7:00 p.m.!

THE LIGHTS OF LAKE PARK

Enjoy one of the best Holiday light displays in Pinellas County. Free but donations appreciated.

TREASURE ISLANDS LIGHTED BOAT PARADE

Dec. 15, 2017

Like Las Vegas on the water! This year's dazzling nautical spectacle features boats of all kinds making it the biggest lighted boat parade in Tampa Bay.  Boats will depart from The Club at Treasure Island at 6:20 p.m., sail past the Treasure Island Causeway Bridge at 7 p.m. and end at 8:15 p.m. at John's Pass.

Celebrate the holiday season in Downtown Tampa at the Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park, presented by USAmeriBank. Located along the Tampa Riverwalk, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is transformed with the sights, sounds and activities of the holidays for children and adults of all ages.

Ice skating tickets include 90 minutes of skating, including ice skate rental. Tickets are purchased at the ice rink entrance.

CHRISTMAS IN THE WILD

Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo, Weekends, Nov. 24 - Dec. 30
The Zoo is brimming with holiday cheer as Christmas in the Wild returns with even more twinkling lights and jolly surprises! Experience 18 wild and wonderful nights. Enjoy seasonal treats, enchanting entertainment and a 50-foot animated Christmas tree! Best of all, visit Santa in his Tree Top Lodge and marvel at the magic of wildlife at night.

RIVER OF LIGHTS

Pirate Water Taxi, Weekends Dec. 1-30
Cruise through downtown aboard the iconic Pirate Water Taxi for a unique vew of the beautiful sights of the holiday season. Pass beneath the lighted bridges to enter the Hillsborough River for a one-of-a-kind tour. Enjoy an entertaining narration on the first half of the cruise and then join in with Christmas Carolers on the second half, while savoring hot chocolate and a delicious holiday cookie. There is no better way to experience the Holidays in Tampa!

Take the annual Christmas train ride to the North Pole. Ride trains though the park, visit Santa Claus in his cabin with Mrs. Claus and take photos with Santa himself.
